Most patients who are considering bariatric surgery are required to meet with a licensed psychologist before they can proceed with the procedure. The purpose of this evaluation is to help you and your treatment team better understand your unique psychological needs so that you can experience the most success on your weight loss journey. The staff at Fort Wayne Neuropsychology are excited to help provide these evaluations. If you are ready for this step, please contact us today. If you are just starting to consider bariatric surgery, please contact the weight management specialists at Lutheran (260-435-7844) or Parkview (260-425-6390) Hospitals to learn more.
Care and Support Consultations
We are pleased to have Lori Stock, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), on staff at Fort Wayne Neuropsychology. Lori brings many years of experience working in the field of dementia. She has extensive experience in delivering dementia education and supporting the families of those diagnosed. She previously developed an early stage dementia program for patients and their care partners and has also facilitated many support groups. In addition, she is a trained Advance Care Planning Facilitator.

As another resource for our patients and families who are impacted by dementia, Lori is available for appointments to discuss community resources, financial supports, planning considerations and many other aspects of care. Please talk with your neuropsychologist at an upcoming appointment or call our office to schedule an appointment. We do ask that the patient be present for the first appointment and preferably thereafter. If you feel other arrangements need to be made for future appointments, we ask that you discuss possible options with Lori during or after the first appointment.

As Lori is new to our staff, she is currently limited to select insurance carriers so please verify her ability to accept your insurance. We are actively working to expand her insurance options and private pay arrangements are also available.

Concussion Clinic
In cooperation with Fort Wayne Neurological Center, Concussion Clinic provides multidisciplinary assessment of concussions. It involves neurology and neuropsychology, as well as a brief screening measure to assess the physical, cognitive, and emotional impact of a concussion. This information will assist in making decisions pertaining to therapeutic activities, returning to athletic play, academic accommodations, etc.

Presurgical Pain Evaluations
Patients who are considering surgical pain management procedures such as spinal cord stimulators or intrathecal pain pumps are typically required to complete an evaluation with a licensed psychologist prior to surgery. This evaluation helps you and your care providers better understand you as a whole person, ensuring you get the best possible care and relief from your pain. At Fort Wayne Neuropsychology we understand that chronic pain impacts all aspects of your life, including your psychological and emotional well-being. We want to help you on your journey to relief. We also appreciate the many steps involved in the pre-surgical process and pride ourselves on completing these evaluations as quickly a possible so you can keep moving forward.
